Boise Cascade Sustainability Highlights

COMMUNITY

Habitat for Humanity In August, 20 volunteers from our headquarters office and Building Materials Distribution (BMD) branch in Boise, Idaho, partnered with Habitat for Humanity ® to build four playhouses. The finished playhouses were then donated to four local non- profit children’s organizations, including the local Boys & Girls Club. “This was an awesome way to give back to organizations that do so much for kids in our community,” said Beth Mediate, Senior Marketing Coordinator for Engineered Wood Products in our Wood Products division and the current chair of the volunteerism committee at our headquarters office. At Boise Cascade, opportunities to pursue excellence, act with integrity and respect, and focus on safety are continuously at the forefront of building our culture. In other words, we are continually driven by our Purpose and Values, seeking to be better tomorrow than we are today.

Community has always been at the core of who we are. It’s our responsibility to have a positive influence as an employer in the communities where we operate. We use our time, talent, and treasures to partner with charitable organizations that align with our values and provide measurable and meaningful impact to help people and communities thrive. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital In August 2024, we had a special Boise Cascade Day of Giving for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ® . For every truckload of product we sold on August 7th, our Company donated $128.56 to St. Jude in honor of Carson Elizabeth. Our goal was to raise at least $100,000. We were able to more than double our goal and raised over $250,000, with the help of our associates, customers, vendors, and friends. Why $128.56 per truckload? Because that’s how much Carson was able to collect in coins and loose change between the time she was diagnosed with cancer and the time of her passing. She asked her parents to give all the money she had collected to St. Jude. “Carson’s strength and courage have deeply touched many of us and we are committed to making a difference in her memory,” said Nathan Sikes, Vice President of Sales and Marketing in our Building Materials Distribution (BMD) division. “By partnering with St. Jude, we aim to contribute to their ongoing efforts to find cures and save lives.”
